The lobby area at Victoria Hotel, Cairo. When I was there, they had metal detectors and 24-hour-a-day security guards at the front door, which you can see at the centre of this photo.

While the hotel owners and management are affluent Coptic Christians, the workers are from the less well-off majority Muslim Egyptian population.
There are plenty of cafes and shops around Victoria Hotel.
