Indian labourers digging roads in Muscat, Oman
[Welcome to Muscat]

Oman, in common with other GCC states, has a high proportion of foreign workers who perform almost all of the work.

In particular, expatriate workers from South India are involved in the contruction industry and it can be said that most of the Gulf states were literally built by their labour.

This photo shows expatriate workers digging a roadside trench in Muscat.
