Car crash in Muscat
The Sultanate of Oman is a country on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The capital city is Muscat.
As in many other Gulf states, car accidents are common in Oman.
After a crash, drivers must not move their vehicles until the police arrive and instruct them to do so.
This rule applies even if the cars are obstructing traffic on a main road, as in this example. This applies even if the damage to the vehicles is minor.
[Car accident in Muscat, Oman]
The white car and blue car have collided on the Mutrah corniche, a main road through the harbour area of Muscat. There is minimal damage to both cars, but nevertheless, they must not be moved off the main road until the police arrive.
Naturally, a crowd of passers-by (such as myself) quickly gathers.
