"The world's busiest bus terminal in the heart of New York City, the Port Authority Bus Terminal is the region's primary ground transportation facility, and the largest bus terminal in the United States.
Opened on December 15, 1950, the Bus Terminal is located one block west of Times Square, occupying the blocks between Eighth and Ninth Avenues, from 40th to 42nd Streets.
It has become an integral part of the revitalized Times Square and theater district areas, and a vital connection for the region's workers, travelers and visitors, serving more than 200,000 passengers a day."
